Patrimonialization of modern music: perimeter, practices and challenges of a territorial collective project

In recent years, heritage initiatives modern music had developed in the Pays de la Loire region but also in other territories in France and abroad. The objective of this research project is to understand the phenomenon of patrimonialization, particularly in Pays de la Loire, in order to help the actors on the ground to develop their projects.

Particular attention will be paid to the notion of experience in the process of heritage-making contemporary music (individual and collective memory, affect, desire to transmit ...), as well as the role and use of digital tools (especially in as a participatory virtual space promoting the collection and enhancement of heritage elements).

This project is co-led by Nathalie SCHIEB-BIENFAIT (LEMNA, University of Nantes), and Sandrine EMIN (GRANEM, University of Angers), in partnership with the CIM-MCPN (University Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle).

With support from the RFI OIC for the co-financing of a thesis. Funding: Pays de la Loire region, University of Nantes.
